Day 1: Guatemala Bound

Welcome to the first day of my journey back to Guatemala. On this trip you will experience, through my blog and pictures, the empowerment of a community tucked away in the Guatemalan mountains by the name of Sibinal.
Project Genesis and Chistmas for Guatemalan Children will have an outreach on more than 500 people. Readers, particularly people who donated on my website at FrancosCharityTravels.org or my Gofundme.com/francostravels, will understand how your donations can make a difference in the lives of people living in extreme poverty in a developing country like Guatemala.
This morning, as I sit in the airport in Kansas City, Missouri, preparing to begin my journey to Guatemala, I feel an overwhelming amount of gratitude toward everyone who donated their time and efforts, money, iPads and iPods, and even a portable stove. Without these generosities Project Genesis and Christmas for Guatemalan Children would not be possible.

Back in Guatemala! Met up with my friend Aldo and our driver Raul at the airport. We are driving up the mountains to Sibinal tomorrow morning. Work is due to begin on Tuesday the 15th of December. However, tomorrow we have decided to hand out Christmas gifts to children who gather along side the mountainous roads in hopes that a driver will stop and share anything with them. Please stay tuned for this awesome event which will be posted tomorrow night.
